How to incorporate a company

1. Choose a unique company name

It should not infringe on existing trademarks

2. Choose the type of business

Private company limited by shares or limited by guarantee

3. Choose the amount of paid-up capital

Initial paid-up share capital should be at least S$1

4. Choose company structure
  • Indicate the number of shareholders and the amount of shares per one
  • A company should have at least 1 shareholder
5. Appoint a director

Should be a resident in Singapore, typically a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident

6. Appoint a company secretary

A secretary should be a Singaporean or a Permanent Resident. The only director cannot be a secretary at the same time

7. Register a company address

The address must be in Singapore. A PO box is not allowed as a registered address

8. Submit all the documents to the registrar
